Project Overview
The objective of KCAL is to simplify calorie tracking, encourage healthier eating habits, and help users achieve their fitness goals through an intuitive and engaging mobile experience.
KCAL is a modern calorie tracking and nutrition app that enables users to log meals, monitor daily calorie intake, track fitness progress, and achieve personalized health goals. Its clean, user-friendly design encourages healthier eating habits and makes nutrition management simple, engaging, and accessible for everyone.
KCAL was created to address the challenges people face in maintaining healthy eating habits and tracking daily nutrition. Many existing fitness apps are cluttered, difficult to navigate, or overwhelming for beginners. The goal of KCAL was to design a clean, intuitive, and motivating mobile experience that simplifies calorie tracking, meal logging, nutrition monitoring, and progress tracking. By making healthy choices easier to understand, KCAL encourages users to build sustainable habits and achieve their long-term fitness goals.
Approach

Healthy eating habits
The approach focused on understanding user goals, simplifying calorie tracking, and creating an intuitive experience through research, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing.
My approach focused on designing a user-centered experience that makes nutrition tracking simple, engaging, and motivating. I began by researching user behaviors, goals, and pain points to understand common challenges with calorie tracking.. Using these insights, I created user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes, followed by iterative usability testing to refine the experience. Every design decision prioritized clarity, accessibility, and ease of use, helping users build healthier habits while staying motivated throughout their fitness journey.
Process
The process combined user research, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing to design an intuitive calorie tracking app that supports healthier eating habits and fitness goals.
The KCAL project followed a structured user-centered design process, beginning with user research to understand nutrition tracking behaviors, motivations, and pain points. These insights guided the creation of user flows, information architecture, and wireframes. Interactive prototypes were then developed and refined through usability testing and feedback. The final interface focused on simplicity, accessibility, and motivation, ensuring users could easily track calories, monitor progress, and build healthier eating habits with confidence.

Supra launched an easy-to-use and visually appealing app that helps homeowners manage their solar power systems with ease. Every design element works together to create a seamless and intuitive experience.
Final Design
The design philosophy prioritized clarity, ease of use, and motivation, helping users effortlessly track calories, monitor nutrition, and build healthier habits through an engaging mobile experience.
The final design presents a clean, modern, and user-centered nutrition tracking application that makes healthy living easier. With intuitive navigation, personalized dashboards, meal logging, calorie tracking, and progress analytics, the app provides a seamless experience from onboarding to daily tracking. Every screen is designed to minimize effort, increase motivation, and help users build sustainable eating habits while staying focused on their long-term health and fitness goals.
